I fervently wish I could answer in the affirmative but sadly, alas, not yet.

We've decided that if the visa insanity isn't sorted out before Christmas, though, I'm going back over for a couple of months to have Christmas/New Year's together and then start off 2007 the right way (by actually being in the same hemisphere for awhile...)

thanks, i was working til well after dark on that thing last night, I got finsihed like 9:30, working outside with the aid of a trouble light.

Rocky PM'ed me last nite to say he had funds ready to buy my D310, but I wasn't around.. I hope he didn't go on a spending spree with his loot.. I decided I'm gonna get a W200 after some contemplation.. There's a 7998 on eBay that I had my eye on.. I was considering just going back to one of those since I don't really use the screen a lot and I miss my old 7998 so much, but I'm excited to check out the full-speed iPod connection on the W200.. I've never been happy with the 420i interface, something I would still have to deal with on the 7998.. This has been a tough decision for me since I want a HU I will be truly happy with.. So far, the 7998 has been the closest I've ever come to a perfect HU..

Actually, the condition wasn't as good as I thought... I was expecting immaculate (not unreasonable, as the auction was worded as such), but the front of the unit is in pretty rough shape. The auction itself also said gently used, but I wouldn't call it that. It's got a number of scratches and dings on the front, and part of the Alpine logo is rubbed off. It wasn't fantastically packaged either, not what I would be expecting for an expensive, fragile item.

I'm going to have to think about his feedback. I don't think I'll do negative, I will probably do neutral, but definitely not positive.

I don't know anybody at AVU, but I bought my TR-7 there, so I'm thinking they might know a fair bit about it. They are also an Alpine dealer.
