Those are almost as bad as VTVM (vacuum-tube-voltmeters) - trust me, there are some things you don't want vacuum tubes in. Test equipment is one of them.

hey... just wanted to mention this.

there's a cable that the Eclipse 8053 manual calls the "ACC (Power supply)" wire...

there's another called the "12v (Permanent supply)" wire

i'm guessing the 12v one goes into the 12v as designated by Scion... but where does this ACC Power Supply one go? what does it do? does it matter?

ACC (accessory) power is usually the switched +12VDC, will turn on and off depending on where you turn the key...the permanent power will, like the name says, always be on.
