Let me tell yall about my experience yesterday afternoon. I had a friend coming over so i could have a look at his new "professionally installed" system ( my prices were to expennsive) . The way he described everything over the phone. Anyhoo I live in a pretty secluded neighorhood. And I could here him coming about a block away. He pulled into the driveway with the worlds biggest smile on his face. So he goes through the whole rasmatass showing everything. It didn't look that bad. Had decent sound. But he said he had a problem with his amps blowing fuses. So we go to take a look. When we unbolted his amprack. OH MY GOD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I wish I had taken pictures. It was the worst rat's nest of wires underneath that I have ever seen in my life. I started trying to trace power wires. I pulled out about 10' of 2 gauge power wire that was just laying there.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif Anyway he then tells me the fuse is in the fuse panel.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif The "profesionals" ran the main power lead through an unused fuse in the fuse panel instead of from the battery. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I'm going to go with him today when he goes back. was the 10' of 2gauge wire just excess laying there or was it like an extra long power wire....and wouldnt 2 gauge wire need to be wired a little somwhere a bit more secure than the fuse box...not really enough power comeing there for that size wire.....ohh...take a camera and take pics for us man....ive done some ghetto installs in the past but....geesh...nothing like that....heh

****, i have done some ****ed up shit in my life tyme for installs but that takes the cake!! I once seen tha fuse box install done but with liek 10 AWG wire, so it worked but was a major electrical hazord. Whtch out bout mentioning tha amprack, cause they might say "well u ****ed with it cause it wasn't like that when he left"

i did an install for my friend in his lexus and he didnt pay me shit. I had to give him some of my 4 gauge power wire cus he had bought some really cheap amp kit for 15 bucks at the discount mall. But then i needed to ground it and didnt have any ring terminals to make a good ground so i grounded it with his 10 gauge wire that came with ring terminals (no way they could have gone around 4 gauge). You should see his lights dim when the bass hits. Its hilarious. they almost turn off. he's gunna **** up his electrical system, i told him go buy a new ampkit and i'll hook it up but he's too lazy.

LOL yeah everything is all good I ended up with a hair cut already however. Grrrr only one year worth of growing out down the drain. Oh well such is life. Maybe everyone is attracted to me for some reason and jumps on here to see me beating up folks with my famous flask/baton. Well off to a craft show or something I will be back on later. No he wants to move his amp to the trunk also, he has it under his seats now. THat will give him enough power wire to run i to the trunk, and a nice 4 gauge ground as well. ANd yes i believe that will help his problem as there will be less resistance in a smaller gauged wire, thus less current demand and less dimming of the lights. I'm not saying his lights won't dim at all anymore, another part of the problem is the fact that he has the original battery in his car and its 6 years old. He's supposed to get a new one, cus the one he has doesnt charge at all and people always has to jump start his car.
