Cool....let us know how the two compare //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Flexability is definatly going to the P9...no question about it. If I was just comparing the radio's I would go for the Eclipse, because of the built in features it has. With the DEQ-P9 attached to the DEX...no doubt the P9 is more flexable and offers the same great sound the eclipse offered and then some //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I tuned everything up lastnight. Took a big longer then the Eclipse, but I would say the reasons were...1)I am not as firmiliar with the P9 as I was the 8053. 2)added midrange means more steps in tuning.
The dual 30 band (left and right) EQ is bad ***, as well as having the EQ extend down to 20hz (the eclipse only went to 63hz.)
Time alignment is a tad confusing to me cause its inches and still didnt dound right when I plugged them into the unit. So I used the MLS system and my ears to tell me where I want them to be.
Seat positioning on the fly is cool. Once you get the TA setup you can switch between left, right, or both seats listening positions. And it does fairly well in keeping it centered in the dual seat arrangement.
Crossover function for left and right is also cool. you can also go up to a 36db slope which can be cool. (I use 18db or 24db for most.) Its 4 wat capable so you can run a full 4 way active setup. Very nice.
Bass/treble boos or cut is cool, you actually get to pick your frequencies to start the boost. So I can set it to 63hz and boost the entire sub stage, or 300hz and boost entire low or 4k+ and adjust the highs to me liking.
Over all I am VERY happy with the purchase of this unit. I would have to say that spec and feature wise A+ and its better then the 8053 eclipse. Now...listening will continue for more of an update.
