Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Hopefully it'll be plenty louder though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifGod I remember the ride to Chipotle I was just about to ***** out in the **** front seat I had a hard time taking a breath lol but I loved it makes me want to go louder. Oh and the glassing looked good from what I saw of it idk if you've done much on that since I stopped by for a visit but im sure it will look top notch just like everything else you do.
Thanks mayn, and yea...the SS XXX's are very power-hungry indeed. I just hope the SoundStream likes the upgrade, or it may beat me up again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifMr. Pioneer, I love your build. My experience with the SS amps is that at 12 volt they are o.k., but they really come alive at 16+ volts. They are very power hungry.
I had 4 6500s on 20 8 volt batteries which equals 10 16 volt batteries and that wasn't enough. I could have used 20 more 8 volts. Also, I used 4/0 welding cable for power wire out of the amps with no problem.
Anyhow, best of luck with your build.
Still dont think your electrical is up to par.....Wiring as long as a football field, more fuses than a house an some beefy batts to back it. Id say you need double that.
Hehe, thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifJ/P man. Hell of an electrical setup. That soundstreamm will love it. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
It's that real ish //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...no, just single inputs that can handle 4/0 gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifsuprised the SS 10k don't have dual 1/0g inputs or does it?
Alright, here's a bit more..
Here's some of the speaker wire im using (yes, that is 4-gauge power wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)

Fits, no sweat..

And the 1/0 kolossus fits in the power and ground terminals with the insulation on it and still has plenty of wiggle room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Outside of the enclosure it'll be 4-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif once inside it'll be 8-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Should have put that in there somewhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifDont the BTL's only accept 8 ga?
J/w. what is the point of using 4ga then?Outside of the enclosure it'll be 4-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif once inside it'll be 8-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Should have put that in there somewhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Exactly that...using 4-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifJ/w. what is the point of using 4ga then?
yeah but its only going to receive the current of the equivalent to 8ga correct.... so ur actually just wasting money.Exactly that...using 4-gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif![]()
Nope, im not using that 4-gauge for much else and already have it...plus it's only around 8 inches maybe of each color to the terminals //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...almost no money used and it'll look better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifyeah but its only going to receive the current of the equivalent to 8ga correct.... so ur actually just wasting money.
