The Saturn: Can't stop there. (Dual 18's upgrade)

The short of it is...my car's tags expired so got ticketed for that...then got the right length belt for the new idler pulley and it looks perfect...then it just throws the belt every time when trying to start it. So I have an untrue idler pulley compared to the alt's pulley...tons of fun with that ahead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

man this is going to kill people! good luck with the belt though. and about the sunroof.. my coach here at school has the same car, same color, and i believe the same year.. with a sunroof. His started leaking a while back and he took it to a shop to have it sealed off because it was a cheaper alternative.. they used some tar stuff or something, but that might be an option for you. When this is done I'm gonna have to stop by and check it out!

You sure that belt just wasnt on to tight?

Mind if I pick your brain a bit to, when you guys build these boxes inside the car, how do you attach the panels. Like how are you going to screw down the side walls to the floor piece that is permanently in place.

Thanks guys.

As for the belt, its pretty much perfect...snug but definitely not too tight. And Im probably going to be heading back to my buddy's place to have him do some work with that idler to keep the belt on correctly.

And for the panels...a jig like THIS is how im going to do it...just makes a nice angled hole for you to drill screws straight down, pretty handy and easy imo.

hopefully some progress happens today but im just going to take it slow after all the fail yesterday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

heres something better than that, and it will save you a llot of time.

get a bar of soap, and rub the screws on it then angle em and drill em in.

we got screws in at nearly 80 degrees with just a .25 inch pilot hole.

not ghetto, i learned it from a seasoned woodworker.

it will still wander on you, it heavily decreases friction, and allows you to focus more on angle than force.
