Ok guys, I am fairly new to the car stereo game. I have put a few in my cars and in other peoples cars and they have sounded pretty good but I have never really paid any attention to what i was actually installing, as to the specifications of the equipment.

Right now I have a Kenwood KAC-9103D

Here are the spec:

* RMS Power Range : 500-900 Watts

* Number Of Channels: 1

* Maximum Power: 1800 Watts

* Low Frequency response: 20 Hz

* High Frequency Response: 20000 Hz

* Built In Crossovers: Yes

* Channel Separation: Yes

Features

* RMS Power @ 4 ohms: 500 Watts x 1

* RMS Power @ 2 ohms: 900 Watts x 1

* CEA-2006 compliant

* Top-Mounted controls

* Preamp Outputs - 1 Pair

* Power MOSFET Switching Power Supply

* Variable Low-Pass Filter: 50 - 200 Hz

* Infrasonic Filter: Off / 15 / 25 Hz

* High- and Low- Level Input

* Adjustable Input Sensitivity: 0.2 - 5V

* Bass Boost Control: 0 - 18 dB

* Class D Amplifier Circuit

* RCA Inputs/Outputs

* Fuse Rating: 30A x 2

* Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 94 db

* Dimensions: 11-1/4" L x 14-15/16" W x 2-9/16" H

Now I was looking at the Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D2 or D4 sub, but i dont know which one to get. The specs for both subs are identical except the OHMS. I was wondering if someone can help me with which on to get and why?

Specs:

* 12" Champion Series Pro

* Surround : Wide-Roll, 3-Layer Fiber Woven Aramid Radial with Honeycomb Cloth

* Voice Coil : Dual 4-Layer, Long Voice Coil

* Voice Coil Wire : Copper

* Voice Coil Bobbin : Phenol Resin Coated Glass Cloth

* Projected Pole Yoke with Vented Pole

* Magnet : Double Stacked 110oz

* Aluminum Die-Cast Rigid Chassis

* Gasket 1-Piece Rubber

* Integrated Single-Sided Silver Compression Terminals

* Max Power : 3000 Watts

* Nominal Power Handling : 1000 Watts

* Frequency Response : 18Hz~700Hz

* Sensitivity : 89 dB

* 2-Ohms Impedance (D2) or 4-Ohms (D4)

* Recommended Enclosure Size : 0.50~1.0 Cubic Ft

* Mounting Depth : 7.5"

First off nice amp, I have the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Either one would be fine, you can get a D4 and get it down to 2 ohms, or get the D2 and wire it down to 1 ohm since it can handle a 1 ohm load. I believe its rated at 900+ rms at an 1 ohm load, so if you wanna get the most of both than get a DVC 2 ohm sub.

edit: Forgot to say your ohm load on your amp lest you know what kind of sub to get and much output you would get from the amp, so pay attention to the Rms.

ex. RMS @ 2 ohms is 900 rms (So you could get a DVC 4 ohm sub and wire it down to 2 ohm)

RMS @ 1 ohms is 900 + rms (So you could get a DVC 2 ohm sub and wire it down to 1 ohm)
