Ask them how they did it in court, wait for their answer and call them out on it. However they did it involved some sort of hacking. Two wrongs don't make a right, so if they got that info through those means then they are just as guilty as you are.

While I am no lawyer, I am sure that if they are presentig it in thier evedince when pushing thier case, they went about getting it in a "legal" way, and will ensure that is it submissable under a court of law as evidence.

You sure it wasn't just a screenshot of them viewing your shared folder??? You can usually view all the files a user on a p2p service has...wow i think i'm done with p2p services and probalby bittorrent...i don't really use them for music anymore anyways just the rare songs i can't find. no no no, not illegal at all, perfectly legal since the patroit bill, everyone and anyone is being monitored, they can remotley watch you with permission from your isp, hence the screenshot... all perfectly legal if performed by the gov

1.) Don't download anything! (yeah riiiiiiiiiight)

2.) Whatever program you are using, go into your settings and DISABLE your sharing function so as noone can download from you....
