The RIAA caught me.

wow so i've proven my point and you have nothing to substantiate yours.... good argument athlon..... i bet you were on the debate team huh????
nyah nyah my school is better than yours nyah nyah.... grow up little man and join the real world.... you're in for a shock when you graduate from that dump of a college lol......
Funny, I've already had job offers and I'm 2 years from graduation, and no, you have not even come close to proving a point, you have proven that a bill that hasn't been passed would make schools monitor what people are sharing, not what this argument is about. Also banning P2P on campus as Ohio U did is like banning alcohol, its all well and good, but its just a ban, they aren't doing anything with monitoring.

Oh so their doing it to bigger things like movies not music?

nope both..... it's just that popular movies are shared much more than individual song files.... there are more songs out there but the individual files themselves aren't... for example if one of athlon's favourite songs by Michael Jackson is being shared..... there may be 10 other versions of it out..... but with movies especially the higher quality ones that are new or still in theaters there are usually only one copy out there....

They care about both, its the sharing that is easier to find and get caught for doing.
My school does not care about downloading. They have said it before and when I asked them about it now they said that they have no problem with downloading, its just the uploading that they don't want.

Odd since the downloading is also illegal. It also uses a fair amount of bandwidth, but I guess the school can do what they want.

sigh.... you really are just as much a joke here as you are on the mpc forums lol...

read again this is a direct quote with research and colleges offering info.... take note that most colleges do not give out the info that they monitor this closely.... take a look at your own dump of a school's contract for using it's network foolish young man and you'll see for yourself... but as usual with most of your arguments you keep trying to dodge the facts...

here's the quote again...

Many—if not most—schools already closely monitor traffic on their networks, with some (e.g., Ohio University) blocking it altogether, and the bill would provide grants to colleges so they could evaluate different technological solutions.

and the fact that you made a statement that the colleges don't have this resource shows me just how uninformed you really are..... my company isn't considered that large for example.... a little over 300 restaurant/bars.... with over $250 million in sales..... lower to middle scale in the corporate world..... we have monitoring software for every single computer in the chain that monitors everything being done on every single computer..... this isn't even difficult now a days nor expensive..... don't be so naive athlon and join the rest of the world in enlightenment..... and just a hint no one really gives a shit if you're 2 years from graduation from a dump like you are going too..... you are still a moron and will probably be selling vaccuum's to supa's mom after you graduate anyway... i'm 15 years way past graduation and making 6 figures.... come back when you even reach half that .... kthxbye

Haha, I could make close to six figures already, your job and you are a joke. And guess what that monitoring software does, it creates logs, those logs need to be read by someone, this is where the universities lack the resources, they have the software to monitor, but they can't hire people to sit around and read logs all day.

If you really are 15 years out of college and making pretty good money you should be way past the point of arguing on the internet. You are just making yourself look like an idiot with all this bickering.

That made no sense.

Wierd, you must have edited it as well and still didn't fix it, lol!

Actually I think he is pretty on point so far. I don' t have the knowledge he has, but he makes valid points unlike the other guy.

Plus I think it is funny.

actually no i know this moron from another forum and he deserves to get shit on every now and then...... i am simply arguing my point and he's making it personal... so i am just responding in kind..... he just can't handle the heat... and as for his six figures he includes the decimal and that makes up his annual salary at McD's.....

as to monitoring athlon no it's not just logs..... some monitoring software detects file extensions..... so when a network admin notices a .mp3 file extension gets uploaded on their network you don't need to read through logs to find this..... you must be reading stuff from 1986 or earlier.......

He very well could be right on everything he says, he is just making himself bad by arguing about it, and in my opinion someone of that age should be more mature than most of the people on this forum.

i call him athlon cause that's his name that i know him by.... he's the same way over there he argues and makes no proper statements or backs them up.... and if he can't he turns to 12 year old one upmanship lol....... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Change the file extension, its so easy, and I have never worked at McD, nor any fast food place.

Examples please. I haven't even been on that forum for much time in over a year.
