The Official "Whats your favorite Horror movie?"

The Exorcist was billed as the scariest movie ever. It probably was at the time and for some time after. Now it has lost some of it's punch. The book is good and the movie is still worth seeing, if not for historical reasons.

The movie was dependent on special effects and they just come off as cheesy nowadays. I remember seeing it back in the day and being very moved.

If you are looking for a "What you know about that?" horror movie from back in the day that is pretty messed up - check out "The Sentinel".

It was made in response to what I like to call the "Satan Baby" movies of the 70s. We all know about The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, and The Omen. The Sentinel checks in right behind all of those but has been forgotten over the ages.

It isn't of the same level as the classics I mentioned but if you have seen all of those and are hungry for more I recommend checking it out. It will not disappoint on the scare level or the WTF level. Some weird shit goes down in that movie.

as an enthusiast, you may have different tastes

i'm in no way a horror or zombie movie expert

i know guys who are HUGE into horror movies, go to the conventions to meet all the B-movie actors and whatnot, watch crazy crap like "slumber party massacre" and whatnot, and i'm not really into that

i just know what i've seen, and what i've enjoyed, i've never been into movies enough to go out of my way to dig up cult classics

im not an enthusiast like that but i love horror, i believe its the adrneline rush it gives me when the movie is good. But i wont go as far to meeting the characters, im cool on all of that.

But u know one thing i like is how Michael Myers seems to catch all of his victims even though he walks and they are running from him, that seems real funny to me but i like it

pet semetary is my favorite REAL horror movie
dead alive is my all time favorite campy horror movie, tho

puts army of darkness to shame, imo
I really wouldnt say Army of darkness is a horror film, but you **** because that is one of the best movies ever................ever I say!

Also there is another thread made by the physco guy about horror films, just FYI.

army of darkness was first, i'll give credit where credit is due

but the whole intentionally campy zombie movie genre definitely apexed with dead alive

it's got a zombie baby, a priest proclaiming "i kick *** for the lord" before going into a kung-fu scene with a bunch of zombies, and even a 10 minute zombie-killing rampage with a lawnmower //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

everything peter jackson touches is gold, it's DEFINITELY worth finding a copy if you enjoyed AOD

Me and my girl love horror movies. Im a fan of the halloweens. House of 1000 corpses was crazy. I have to say Silent Hill was pretty nutz also.

Cant forget Freddy vs. Jason for the cool horror movies.

I loved AOD, might have to check out Evil dead. My girlfriend who loves horror flicks is always talking about that and strangeland. Ever hear of strangeland?
