The OFFICIAL NFL Draft thread!!

i never mentioned stats and look where the 2 played. john l smith is not a good coach. stanton has better physical ability then quinn. troy smith had great stats and won a hesiman, but is he a top QB? quinn fits joey harrington to a T. both played for some of the best offensive coaches in college. both are the same size with limited mobility. both have accuracy issues, both had a tendency to falter in big games, quinn more so then harrington. iirc harrington led oregon to a fiesta bowl win iirc. stats don't mean a whole lot in college. scouts look at the physical abilities.
Never said you did mention stats, I was saying stat wise about Stanton and Quinn, which stats wise you cant compare them.

I didnt watch much of Joey Harrington in college, so cant really argue about how they compare. But just because they are the same size dont really say much. Bieng a QB you have to be smart, make sometimes nano second judgments and be ready to take a hit at anytime. I have seen Quinn get nailed many a times and he always gets back up. He is a tuff kid. Now being NFL is different, I have to say Harrington has been nothing but horrible. I dont care how well you get coached or dont get coached, when you are on the field a lot of that goes out the window. A lot of instinct replaces that and well some people have horribe instinct example Joey Harrington. He always took to long to throw the ball, was sacked a shit ton and could never get away. To me Quinn has a lot better instinct which will result in him being able to get the ball away quicker or not make a stupid mistake like Harrington does. I swear Harrington seen the same color uniform on the other side, cause he liked to throw to them a lot! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I really dont see much of the same quailties like you are mentioning besides maybe the same size and they dont run much.

your wrong. harrington was one of the least sacked QB's in the league. 92 sacks for his career. carr taken the same year as harrington was sacked about 250 times

harrington is a very smart guy. his ability was overrated due to wear he played. they are about mirror images of each other.

Ah, he has played 5 years and the last two limited. So cant really say he is the least sacked qb over his career.

He is not very smart. I say when you have a completion rate of 55%, 77tds to 139 picks, over his career, dont make him the best with decisions, lol!

exactly and quinn has the same decision making as harrington. harrington has been a full time starter up untill last season. harrington's career high in sacks in a season is 36. in 03 and 04 he had 8 and 9 sacks. in 03 he played in 14 games and 04 he played in 16 games. look at quinn's decision making against top tier college teams

You are trying to compare Harrington who has been in the league for 5 years to Quinn who hasnt even steped on a NFL field yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif We will see, but all I can do is hope he isnt as bad as Harrington was/is.

they both had similar college careers, both played under the best offensive coaches in college against mediocre talent, and both have the same physical tools.

Might have had similar college careers, but the NFL is a different breed and IMO I think Quinn will excel more so than Harrington has or will.
why? harrington was tabbed a great decision maker in college. watch quinn against michigan. he got dominated and didn't know what the hell he was doing out there.

Yes, I watched that game and he was off. It happens, not everyone can be there best everytime out. You can try, but sometimes it just dont pan out that way.
you don't understand, that happened against all quality opponents he played. against LSU, ohio state, usc, michigan. all teams with some NFL calibur talent, he struggled. it wasn't just one game against michigan

Its obvious you dont like the guy and of course he is in Cleveland, so I wonder why you would have to say the things you say. No sense in arguing over it. If he does bad, so be it, if he is the next big thing, then good pick up for Cleveland. You think he is like Harrington and I dont. Insert shrug smiley.

Yes, Hawk married Quinn's sister, Hawk embarassed Quinn in last years bowl game. Made Quinn look like Ryan Leaf. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
lol

apparently bigbang can't see this. he must feel the upgraded defense over the ones he faced and struggled in college will make him better. i was hoping detroit wouldn't take him 2nd. apparently GM's felt this way as a lot of teams passed on him
