So youre just trying to show that the number of whites in prison is growing faster than blacks?

I fail to see the reason to make a thread over this.

I think the % of the population is the more important figure. There's 8 times as many whites in this country, yet there's almost as many blacks in jail?

Exactly. The rate of growth , to me is equal. This just means that before anyone can point fingers they should look at themselves. Blacks aren't any more criminal than whites...it's just more of you to balance out your census.

The growth rate can mean many things. You didn't mention any of them.

The rate of growth isn't even CLOSE to equal.

The white prison population has grown by 100%

The black prison population has grown by 75%

There's 8 times as many whites in this country.

I'm simply using it to state that over the years, there has been a faster increase of whites locked up than blacks. That means that the asinine statement that all blacks are criminals needs to stop.

Do you see the trend that the chart shows? Fast forward that a few more years and the finger can be pointed the other way.

Blacks were almost three times more likely than Hispanics and five times more likely than whites to be in jail.

Well, when theres 8 times as many white people in the country, one would assume that the possibility for the white prison population to grow faster would only make sense.

When theres already a much larger percentage of black population in prision, that would mean that there's less to lock up in the future, no?

If anyone is dumb enough to think that all blacks are criminals, there is no chart in the world that is going to change that mindset.
