ok, im moving to Pennsylvania here soon, and my parents want me out of their "family share" plan

i currently have Verizon and am debating changing. i rarely use my phone to make calls, 95% of it's use is text messaging.

if i stay with verizon, I already have a phone (old Motorola q), so i don't necessarily have to buy one now, although mines kind of on it's last leg.

the plan im looking at is $70 which is 400 anytime minutes, and unlimited text

If i go to cingular, the plan i'd want, is 400 anytime minutes and unlimited text as well for $60 a month, but i'd also have to buy a phone.

anyways, i've never really had any problems with verizon till recently, it's been getting kinda crappy.

alot of my friends have cingular and say it's awesome.

which would you go with and why?

Cliff notes:

-need a new cell phone plan

-verizon and cingular similarly priced, but if i went with Cingular i'd have to buy a new phone

-verizon has been shitty lately, go with cingular?

I prefer ATT myself. I get better recepetion almost everwhere I go on my iPhone than my Blackberry Curve 8330 through Verizon. I've stuck with ATT for years. Can't really say which is better, IMO they are all the same to me, just with different "perks"

if you get cingular, you wont be wasting your minutes as much, since you said your friends have cingular, so it will be free when talking with them.

but yeah i have AT&T, and dont have any problems with them.

Lg dare is gay.. If you're gunna get a touch screen from verizon, atleast get the blackberry storm a real touchscreen device. As for which service, I never had any issues service wise from either carier.. I did make the switch to at&t though, because they got the blackberry bold recently, and that's what I wanted. Can't go wrong with either service. At&t typicly gets better phones though.
