Jeter's averages range between 291-349. In his 13 seasons, he was between 291-324 10 times, and 3 times out of that range. Not much more consistency partner.

He is only marginally better. The difference are negligible when talking about an entire career. if Jeter is top 20, then Larkin is top 50.

If Larkin would've had 169 more singles, he would have a 316 career batting average, 392 OBP, 465 slugging percentage, 857 OPS, 441 doubles, and 76 triples which would all be higher then Jeter's numbers. He would trail Jeter by 26 hits 2509 to 2535 and by 8 home runs 206 to 198. That is assuming all of Larkin's extra 169 hits are singles. You are in essence saying that Larkin was only 169 singles away from being one of the greatest of all time.

don't matter. Some times it takes major leagers over a week or maybe two to get 10 hits. The seasons weren't waiting for larkin to get them hits.

Cleveland gets Mark DeRosa from the Cubbies.........good solid infielder and can hit to boot. Nice addition for Cleveland. I imagine he will play 3rd and gives them a lot of depth in changing up the line-up on certain nights. Awesome deal!

Now we need one decent starter and it will be a good off-season for Cleveland.
