Free agent first baseman Mark Teixeira has reached agreement with the New York Yankees on an eight-year contract worth more than $170 million, two sources involved in the negotiations tells ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

They've dropped $400mil on 3 players this offseason...this is absurd.

The Tigers payroll is about 4th in MLB and the Yankees are probably going to be double that. Hell, they may even double the Red Sox salary.

Yankees have no problem asking for more financing because their stadium costs more than they anticipated, but they'll drop $400million like it's nothing.

I'm sure they'll go after one more FA outfielder, or make a deal for someone.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Dunn their, either- makes sense.

He can replace Cabrera and rotate DH/LF with Matsui.

because they lost to the cardinals in the world series..it is in the Geneva convention:laugh:
