I don't understand people upset at Cleveland trading their pitching. Had they always taken this stance, there would be no Grady Sizemore.
The disappointing Indians traded Colon to the surprising Expos for first baseman Lee Stevens and top prospect Brandon Phillips in a six-player deal Thursday night.
Cleveland sent Colon, minor league pitcher Tim Drew and cash to the Expos for Stevens and three prospects: pitcher Cliff Lee, outfielder Grady Sizemore and Phillips, a shortstop.
"I hope it sends a message to our fans and players that we are trying to be competitive and trying to make the playoffs,'' Expos general manager Omar Minaya said.
Alienate much???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifYou probably don't even know shit about the prospects Cleveland got. LaPorta is a top level prospect. Not too mention the quality mid-level prospects they got for unloading a pitcher who had no intentions of staying in Cleveland. They were able to get above market value for Blake. A good young catcher and a potential bullpen arm for an average 3rd basemen who will be a free agent. How are Hafner and Martinez not vets? Like I said quit being dumb.
Matt LaPorta will be a good one, no doubt about that. Although he hasn't done much in the Olympics. You probably don't even know shit about the prospects Cleveland got. to bad if they go far in the playoffs they will have to get past the angels, good luck with that.rays still up 4.5 games on the sox and i read about minor leauge prospects well the rays have one of the best minor teams look at the young kids on the team now they have and the pitching staff all young kids besides a few, and when the bring up price hes gonna be good he just got his first lose the other night i recall hes 18-1 with under a 2 ERA
if the rays hold it together they can be a good team for the next few years
