**The MLB Thread**

The disappointing Indians traded Colon to the surprising Expos for first baseman Lee Stevens and top prospect Brandon Phillips in a six-player deal Thursday night.

Cleveland sent Colon, minor league pitcher Tim Drew and cash to the Expos for Stevens and three prospects: pitcher Cliff Lee, outfielder Grady Sizemore and Phillips, a shortstop.

"I hope it sends a message to our fans and players that we are trying to be competitive and trying to make the playoffs,'' Expos general manager Omar Minaya said.

LMAO!!!

Minaya got pwned!

"Now there are a lot of guys that are very disappointed,'' Indians shortstop Omar Vizquel said. "It's hard to see the best pitcher on your team go like that. We felt Bartolo was the next Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians.''

You probably don't even know shit about the prospects Cleveland got. LaPorta is a top level prospect. Not too mention the quality mid-level prospects they got for unloading a pitcher who had no intentions of staying in Cleveland. They were able to get above market value for Blake. A good young catcher and a potential bullpen arm for an average 3rd basemen who will be a free agent. How are Hafner and Martinez not vets? Like I said quit being dumb.
Alienate much???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Matt LaPorta will be a good one, no doubt about that. Although he hasn't done much in the Olympics.

Zach Jackson might be a decent 4th or 5th starter, but no more than that. He was brought up already and got rocked his 1st outing, which I am not basing his one outing off that, just don't see him being more than what I mentioned.

We have a good catcher in Shoppach as Martinez will go to 1st next year or even later this year when he comes back. So that new cather we got, cant think of his name might make a decent back up, which we will need.

We picked up a couple other pitchers, but nothing that strikes me as them being a big threat or a mild one at that. Oh and a third baseman, but so what, they will move Peralta over there next year and make Cabrera the SS and Barfield given he is heathly will be at 2nd.

Oh and CC wanted to stay in Cleveland, just knew he wouldn't get the money he was looking for, simple as that. He most likely won't be a Brewer next year either. He went from a small market team to one of the smallest........

Blake, no sense in arguing that as it panned out well as we did get prospects and might have him back next year. So that is fine.

Sorry don't see Hafner and Martinez as vets after a few years. When I think vet, I think somebody older and been in the league for years, yes they have expierence, but when I want a young guy coming the league, I want someone with a lot of expierence taking me under his wing.

Also blow me cumdumpster.

rays still up 4.5 games on the sox and i read about minor leauge prospects well the rays have one of the best minor teams look at the young kids on the team now they have and the pitching staff all young kids besides a few, and when the bring up price hes gonna be good he just got his first lose the other night i recall hes 18-1 with under a 2 ERA

if the rays hold it together they can be a good team for the next few years
