**The MLB Thread**

Lets recap the off season. The two biggest trades belong to the Tigers. Why can we not talk about that? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Perhaps we will read more of Slammed's proposed trades to the Mets instead of talking about a blockbuster trade that actually happened.

Only reason I came back to this forum was to see bigfagtheory's take on this. It ought to be interesting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Perhaps Cleveland will trade Betancourt for Inge?

LOL at Cleveland's forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Only on this message board can a team trade for Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis and that is a good thing for the Indians.
What kind of delusions do you people inhabit?

Do you purposely try to not have a point, logic, or coherence in your posts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
you can't understand wtf i am saying? lol you don't get my point?hmmm

ok, here we go..you will come up with any and every stat known to man kind to try and make the tigers seem better than what they are. they lost the world series in 06 (yet they are still great according to you). this year they didnt even make the playoffs yet they are still great (again according to you).

you take tiger players and try to say they are better than other all stars or future HOF players. people try real hard to explain to you that if they (your tiger players) were really that great they would have won a WS. before you get your panties in a bunch, i am not saying they **** but they were not the best team. that is proven on the field not a stat sheet☼. next year they might very well contend or even win it all but at the same time when i look at that line up i very well see that they will be dangerous to teams without pitching....but as of now they as a team haven't done anything yet. to be honest i remember the 88 Athletics more so than i remember those Tigers (both were upset when they were favored in their first world series) but then again the A's turned around and won it all in 89. i know you won't see where the line is between what i said about the A's and these Tigers but then again it could very well be you are pointing out a fact that you can't compare greatness between the two teams when 1 team has won a world series and the other hasn't. (in other words i am saying the tigers aren't great:laugh:)

Seriously, you really need to work on your punctuation and sentence structure. What the hell does the 88 Athletics have to do with anything? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif The 88 Tigers didn't make the playoffs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Why are you still drumming on about the 2006 World Series? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I lol at your statement "dangerous to teams without pitching" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Who has a better lineup in baseball? Also stats don't lie, hence why I use them. It's funny is I present stats to support my claims and all you people do is start to flame me for it, instead of providing anything other wise. Now I expect some half-assery of a response that looks to be written by a 2nd grader.

lol you are like like fighting with an M2 .

stats dont lie? if stats dont lie wtf is youk hitting 4 homers in the playoffs and batting .388? how the hell all of the sudden JD Drew gets 11 rbi? how the hell does the yankees lineup go from the best offense to amoungst the worst every year after 2004 in the playoffs? stats will not tell you the quality of a pitch, its location...blah blah blah and they do not take into account for how a player feels after his wife finds out he was banging a stripper while on a road trip lol.

Johan's agent hears Mets are in it

By MARK HALE Johan Santana’s agent, Peter Greenberg, spoke to a small group of reporters in the lobby today. He said, “[We’re] just waiting and watching ‘SportsCenter’ and reading what you guys are writing. “Everything seems to change on a daily basis.” As to why a deal for his client hadn’t been completed yet, Greenberg said, “I don’t know. I thought it would have been done already. I think everybody did. I guess Bill [smith, Twins GM] hasn’t gotten what he feels is fair value.” Asked if the Yankees were out of it, he said: “That’s we’re reading.” Asked if the Mets were in it, he said: “That’s what we’re hearing.” The agent would "rather not say at this point” if Santana has a preferred destination.

FOX Sports: Mariners involved

So what other teams out there just made one of the biggest trades in the past 5 years? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Speaking with WFAN, beat reporter Sweeny Murti said…

“Omar Minaya said he inquired about Dontrelle Willis, but the Marlins were not going to deal him within the division.

“However, the Tigers have explored the idea of spinning him off, and they have contacted the Mets. There wasn’t an official offer presented to Omar, but what was talked about, from what I was told, they talked about spinning off Willis. In addition, though, the Mets would have to take on some salary. The Tigers are interested, perhaps, in moving Willis and Ivan Rodriguez and dumping his salary, which is $13 million next season. So, if the Mets wanted Willis from Detroit, they’d have to take on that salary. The thing is, he has a no trade clause, so to get him to waive it you’d probably have to give him another year.”

…if you recall, the talk early in the off-season had been that omar was hoping pudge hit the open market, instead of getting his option picked up by the Tigers, because he would have been the team’s first choice to replace Paul Lo Duca…instead, though, the option was picked up, and Plan B through Z were pursued

slammed>iceteabone when it comes to discussing things. icetea leaves everything close ended: tigers rule: and justifies that as fact ..slammed leaves enough open ended to actually talk about it!
