**The MLB Thread**

What the hell does losing to St. Louis have to do with the 08 Tigers? So you are saying if they would've won, the players would be better? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Even without Sheffield, the Tigers still had the 2nd best offense in the AL and now have Cabrera. Did you not watch Bonderman in 06? That masterpiece he threw against the Yankees? He pitched great against Oakland, and against St. Louis? His post season numbers aren't bad: 2-1 3 3 3.10 1 0 0 0 20.1 17 7 7 11
detroits core players are the same..grandy's improvement and other demise=no playoffs in 07 ....one big banger and a pitcher can help but just like the 05 and 06 red sox doesnt mean you are automatically going to win it all..for the most part im just talking crap cause your team did good but still in all honesty think they wont win it all lol

Buckholz has upside
does this mean he is better than Verlander?

I wouldnt bump him to 3rd just yet.
You take out his 07 season, and Willis is worthy of a #3 starter. I don't understand why you feel otherwise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

dont assume my friend

he could have an Anthony Young season

Willis has potential, but last season he had bad stuff (I saw him at Shea)

In Detroit he won't be asked to be the #1 like in Florida. In Detroit he'll have run support. He'll also have a lot of veteran leaders around him. He'll be playing for a veteran manager and have a veteran catcher, and I'm sure Chuck Hernandez will work on his mechanics. Also add the fact that he'll be playing for a contender and in a packed stadium, he'll be rejuvenated. Honestly, all we need from him is to give 200 innings. The Tigers problem last year was the starters not giving a lot of innings and the Tigers needing to go to the bullpen early. The guy was runner up for the Cy Young and is only 25, I don't think his career is finished. He is still a solid pitcher.
