**The MLB Thread**

Oh so you mean who was the MOST VALUABLE TEAM PLAYER!
I got ya now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif
that is not at all what i said. guillen was more valuable to the tigers then jeter was to the yankees. you take jeter out of the lineup, and you got 9 ****ing all-stars in their lineup. you take guillen out of the tigers lineup and they don't make the playoffs.

morneau wins mvp. my choice for mvp. keith law is such a dumbass. mauer would not have had such a good season without morneau protecting him in the lineup, law spared himself totall dumbasship by mentioning carlos guillen. i mean if jeter is a mvp contender, then guillen should be ahead of him.
Looks to me you said it right there.

If you would have said that I think Gullien should be ahead of Jeter because he has done more for the team then we could have saved some bandwith. Otherwise I have enjoyed this as time is going by fast at work.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

the award is most valuable player that is what mvp means. you follow me so far? if i'm going to fast let me know. it does not say the best player award. if it was the best player award, david ortiz would've won it. here i'll break it down for you.

most1. in the greatest quantity, amount, measure, degree, or number: to win the most votes.

2. in the majority of instances: Most operations are successful.

3. greatest, as in size or extent: the most talent.

valuable1. having considerable monetary worth; costing or bringing a high price: a valuable painting; a valuable crop.

2. having qualities worthy of respect, admiration, or esteem: a valuable friend.

3. of considerable use, service, or importance: valuable information. –noun 4. Usually, valuables. articles of considerable value, as of personal property, esp. those of relatively small size: They locked their valuables in the hotel safe.

player1. a person or thing that plays.

2. a person who takes part or is skilled in some game or sport.

3. a person who plays parts on the stage; an actor.

4. a performer on a musical instrument.

5. Informal. a participant, as in a conference or business deal.

now nowhere do i see the best player. the award is for the player who is most valuable to their team, hence why it is called most valuable player

MVP

Most Valuable Player.

Also, M.V.P.

Yes, I know! Where did I say best player?

But, thing is Morneau won it, correct? He isnt best player or best team player. I think that their are others that should have won it before him. Yes, he had a great year, but come on!

Also I think MVP should be the best player in entire league, not what you have done for your team. Really the they should change the name or something.

If they want to make an award for best team player, then why not make one and give each team an award for who was the best player on the team.

it isn't for the best team player you ignoramous! jesus christ dude. MVP = MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. ARE YOU OK WITH THIS? OK, NOW WE LOOK AT CONTENDING TEAMS. A PLAYER IS NOT VERY VALUABLE TO A LOOSING TEAM CORRECT? NOW WE LOOK AT THE TWINS. THEY HAVE A FIRST BASEMEN NAMED JUSTIN MORNEAU. HE HAD 34 HOMERUNS AND 130 RBI'S. NOW HE IS VALUABLE TO HIS TEAM BECAUSE HE IS THE MAIN RUN PRODUCER IN THEIR LINEUP. IF YOU TAKE HIM OUT OF THAT LINEUP, THW TWINS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD TEAM. THAT IS WHY HE IS VALUABLE

VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE VALUABLE

DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW

Nope, Alex Rodriguez won it in 2003 with Texas. Record was 71-91

1991 Cal Ripken won it on a 67-95 team.

1989 Robin Yount won it on a 81-81 team.

1997 Larry Walker won it on 83-79 team.

1987 Andre Dawson won it on a 76-85 team.

The list goes on and on, but I have to leave. So really your theory is wrong according to history. Some MVP's have played for some shitty teams. Also out of all of them the only one team to make the playoffs was Colorado. So I guess he helped some. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

the award has been out since 1911 and yea there were some loosing teams (rockies don't count since they had a winning record and made the playoffs) they shouldn't have won it cause the system is flawed. you are now on my ignore list cause you are either acting ignorant on purpose or really are ignorant. toodles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

Ha, coming from a guy that had to use a god dam dictionary to break it down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I think Sal Fasano should have won it.
