Thames is having a hell of a lot better year at the plate than Monroe though. Thames is finally able to play most of the time and seems to be doing just fine. What makes Monroe so much better? To be honest I dont think Monroe is and hasnt been anything special.

monroe is a solid veteran. he batted 277 with 20 home runs and 89 rbi's last year. he has come up with big hits so far this year, he uses all parts of the field and isn't a dead pull hitter like thames, and is a better defender and can play centerfield when needed. he's a better all-around player then thames and thames has a high trade value

well i'd like to see how ozzie and soriano will get along if ozzie asks soriano to do something he doesn't want to do.

Oh well if your basing it off 1 decent year then I suppose. I mean his career isnt anything special. I have seen Thames take the ball the other way a few times. I mean I can see about his trade value being higher, but I wouldnt consider him a lot better than Thames.

Podsednik will probably move to center and soriano will be in Left. Brian Anderson will be shit out of luck.

thames has a grand total of 3 hits to the opposite field. well monroe hit 23 home runs and 70 rbi's in 2003 and 18 home runs and 72 rbi's in 2004 so he has more then 1 solid year. with young back you have a log jam. they need young's left handed bat, and i think monroe is a better all around player then thames. plus you can move thames to say philly for tom gordon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ESPN is reporting that the Sox are extremely close to a deal for Soriano. I'd prefer to keep McCarthy, but either way we'll benefit.

it also has been reported that the Cards are close with Soriano as well

It doesn't matter who gets Soriano in the trade. We all know the mets are picking him up in the offseason. The mets need a second basemen (doesn't have to be the best defensive) and Soriano doesn't want to play in the outfield. and Omar has a way of get what he wants.
