From what Leyland said, it looks like whoever you heard that from is full of shit. Leyland said they have about as good of a chance getting Abreu as a reporter has coaching the Tigers this week.

leyland isn't gonna say they are gonna make a trade cause what if they didn't? i heard from espn rumor central. the tigers have the money and the talent to make a deal. why do you say the tigers won't be able to get soriano or abreu? mike illitch told dombrowski get whoever you need.

actually chicago was lucky cause bonderman was great. chicago only had 1 runner in scoring position and that was with 2 outs in the 9th when the tigers let dye steal 2nd. 2 fastballs that just kinda hung over the plate and chicago turned on them

Leyland said that they don't have a shot at Abreu. Why would he say that if there is a chance? Obviously the Tigers must have made an offer and it got shot down. Last I heard the Tigers didn't want to give up there top prospects which both the Phillies and Nationals would be seeking.

Ok I'll roll with that, then the slider that hung up in the zone to I-Rod and the Slider that Monroe jacked out. Still can't believe Ozzie didn't yank him after he let the 3rd runner get on. The easiest way to tell if a pitcher is tired is when he gets the ball up in the zone. Another way is when his arm drops down, which causes the ball to go up in the zone. Vasquez was tired, he should have been pulled.

Leyland hasn't been saying shit all year. Any manager will tell you adding a bat to bolster the line up is a smart move. I've heard them say it plenty of times. "With a bat like "......." it would definitely strengthen our lineup." Again, I've heard it from managers many times.

general managers say that. leyland knows what he is doing. he and dombrowski have worked together before and made big trades. the tigers haven't made the playoffs since 87 and they want to not only make it but win. also if you say something like that and the trade doesn't happen, you are saying your lineup is week
