thats cool that theres other guys on here that are into fighting too, i'm definitely an mma fan.. whether its the ufc now on spike, k-1 on fox sports net, i have a subscription for dvds from super brawl, i have a couple box sets from king of the cage. actually, ultimate fight nite live or whatever is on right now i'm watching that
as far as fighting styles, personally i'm a weird one. i'm a big guy that doesnt fight like a big guy if that makes sense. i'm 6'3" 350 but as i grew up i was never the big kid, i didnt have a growth spurt i just steadily grew for about 5-6 years until i was done at about age 18-19 and right now i'm 20, so i'm not used to have this height. at a real young age i was in karate then towards the jr high days i was in tae kwon do for a couple years. high school i turned lazy until the end when my brother got me actually interested in training. started lifting for real once i was a freshman in college, a big part of my workout has always been with the bag, i try to have quick hands rather than trying to be the big ogre with a haymaker, and thats it, i just dont like that kind of style i prefer actual skill. the main thing that makes me a bit uncommon my preference of kicks. i'm still working on getting back my previous flexibility but i can nealry do the splits, and i pride myself in powerful high and mid kicks (i figure if its head height for me its also head height for the typical opponent) and i really like to use knee striking and forearms. i've always been interested in various martial arts, kickboxing, powerlifting, etc. kind of a weird blend i've been told.
i'm hoping once i get back into serious training after i finish recovering from my bike accident, maybe another year or more i can start doing some amateur competition.... now granted i'll probably have to find unlimited classes or a non-capped heavyweight because ufc for example tops at 265lbs and thats too much for me to cut. but i'll be workin on it, last time i was heavily into lifting i was at about 315 so i know i can be there no problem.
