Wish we would have taken the Boston deal, but it could have gone like the Tori Hunter ordeal where we just get a draft pick. Carl Pohlad is one of the richest owners in the league, but runs the team like a greedy jew. He wants to be applauded for even spending money while claiming to be losing money every year. The same thing is gonna happen in 6 years with Morneau. O well, had fun watching him pitch. He is a class act.

Trade still isn't finalized, but I must say, I like this trade a lot. First, it gets Santana out of the AL Central, and even better, he doesn't end up in Boston or on the Yankees, and finally the NL is still weaker.

how many games did Santana lose because of laco of run support last year?

I believe 5 games he lost in which only gave up 3-4 runs

Santana Contract Could Spell Sabathia Departure

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes today that a six-year extension in the $130-150MM range for Johan Santana is likely to spell an end to C.C. Sabathia's Indians career after this season. The Indians made an offer to Sabathia in December, something probably in the range of four years and $70MM. It would be hard for Sabathia to pass on the chance to double that total.

Sabathia does want to stay and believes negotiations for an extension are progressing (he's let his agent handle it so far). Indians GM Mark Shapiro would probably like to avoid an in-season contract distraction but no one's suggested any deadlines out yet.

They will offer him big time money when the time comes. Cleveland is competiting for a championship, so it's not like they are going to get rid of the best pitcher in baseball last year Next to Peavy. Also is a little different being MN don't care about competiting right now to where Cleveland does.

Because Detroit, Boston, and Cleveland are better, so when you apply simple logic and arithmetic, 4 teams and 3 playoff spots, that means New York is on the outside.
