America has vast farmfields that can produce corn and , inturn, produce Ethanol.
Volvo has a vehicle that runs on 100% Ethanol and is turbocharged. Oil is not the answer to the worlds problems, it is PART of the worlds problems.

Im pretty sure it is Volvo. It could very well be Saab. Saab is Swedish right? Sweden has a very BIG Ethanol industry. Heck, you get free parking if your car runs on Ethanol in Sweden. The car im talking about, i forget the particulars, but it makes MORE horsepower on E100 than on straight gasoline. Not to mention, Ethanol supposedly has an octane rating of 110!

I just wrote a 6 page paper on alternative fuels. Electric and E-100 are the way of the future.

Imagine how we could all live if all our money spent in foreign countrys was spent here. Hospitals, schools, communities, alternative fuel sources, aid for the poor. It will never happen, because then politicians loose strength, military looses huge amounts of funding, and we loose our "parenting" role across the globe. Washington prefers $ over paradise, sadly, we're along for the ride. The best we can do is vote, and live our lives the best we can.

yah... it's a saab... it makes more pressure with ethonal because it can run higher boost because ethonal is more stable than gasoline.... in any case ethonal will only bring a new crop of whiny assholes.... they will whine about us burning food in our cars while people are starving... then they will whine about our growing procedures such as the pesticides and likely genetic modification that would be neccessary to create a stable and dependable crop large enough to support our growing energy usage....

we should have invaded them to begin with... but their population would have been much more hostile to us... the country is led by a verifiable madman who is making nukes for "power" even though his whole **** country is afloat on a sea of oil... it'd only take a small investment for them to create the refiniery capacity to make the same power with oil...

Well, I think we can all agree that the transportation situation in the USA is nowhere near perfect. I think that a strong Ethanol industry would be a great step in the right direction for the USA and Canada. There is vast amounts of farmland between the two countries that could be used for the production of corn.
