the BOX ...to close ??

heya...

i would like to know how close can a sub(magnet) come the back side ....

..(if the sub is 10" long... can the depth of the box be 16 >less or if the sub is 18" wide... can the width be 19" ) ...can it effect the sound ..?

it can be touching. just make sure the vent on the motor isnt covered up

i think at least an inch or two is gernerally said... HOWEVER

I have run subs in truck boxes that were 1/8" between magnet and box and had ZERO problems... so IDK.

If there is a vent in the back of the sub, then there must be some gap behind the sub.

yea, I would leave .25" behind the sub if you can..

Some subs can mount directly onto the enclosure if it has a backplate installed, at least that's the optimal situation. However, most subs usually prefer 3 inches of space between the magnet and the wall. That's been the rule of thumb in my years of box building, and it's sometimes even stated in the subwoofers manual. Everyone probably has their own opinions on this, though.
