no you didn't search. actually i think there was a thread that discussed the big 3 on the first page. go to http://www.sounddomain.com go to the fourms and in the electrical section is a big 3 sticky.

Not always true...sometimes there is a big 2, perhaps. My battery (negative) goes straight to the engine so I turned it into a big 3. Not sure if it helps, but atleast I am accurate.

You also don't need to fuse the alternator to battery wire. The factory wiring can handle alternator output without frying, so the fuse is not necessary.
