the big three???????WTF?

I keep hearing everybody say "do the big 3 instead of a capacitor", but i cant seem to find out exactly what the big 3 is????

I am thinking an extra battery, an alternator, and better wiring in the car itself, but I have no idea if its correct. Can someone shed somelight on this subject for a noob??
