The Big 3!!!!

Honestly, no. the 4gauge under the hood will work fine unless your in the 2000watt RMS+ range. Thicker for longer lengths running from the engine bay.

On the other hand there is somthing very manly about thick Power wires [cue Tim Taylor].

I was gonna run 4 and just needed that extra push to get it done thanks. Also is buy used caps ok like the monster digital caps cause i can get 2 for a good price?

If you can get them really, really cheap then go for it, be advised though that they make a very TINY difference in overall sound, I have used one personnaly in the past and found that it gave me slightly better transient response in my woofers not enough to justify what I paid for it.

The caps also have the nasty habit of eating up current when you are trying to compete in SPL comps (the amp is trying to get current while the cap is trying to recharge from the first second of the burp, increasing current demands and in turn lowering voltage), not a problem if you dont plan on competing.

Bigger altermator and ugrading wires is a much better investment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Geeze thats really tough to say, its all really install dependant. they both have the potential for 150 if setup right.

Switching out your alternator pulley for a slightly smaller one will increase your idling amperage, its like an underdrive pully kit just opposite, you want the alt to spin faster.

Can u explain that in detail so I can understand that? My car has to be off when im in the lanes. Also I can run 2 12" L7's or 3 12" L5 but i think fitting 3 L5's would be alittle hard to get a good ported box would'nt it?

18" Treo ssi- This one should be able to get in 150 range in a box tuned a little high, like somthing in the 50hz range.

2 15" Kicker L5- These should also be able to get in the 150 range, you might be able to get away with a lower tuning frequency with the extra cone area.

3 12" Kicker L5- This would have trouble off of a single amp, each speaker wastes power due to inefficencys (one speaker will waste X amount of wattage as heat put several speakers together off the same amp and more wattage will be wasted), if each had its own amp I think it would be possible but off of a single amp the amount of power wasted would not make it competitive, prolly sound good though.

2 12" Kicker l7- lack of cone area here, a really big ported box tuned high should do the trick, the single 18" Treo would be more efficient though.

If the car must be off in the staging lanes, install an auxillery battery, this way you can have maximum current/voltage available for burps.

The smaller alt pulley will reduce dimming at stop lights, reason being aternators can't put out peak amperage untill a minimum RPM is reached, a smaller pulley will increase the rpm of the alternator and increase available current at idle.

Hope I answered your questions, No one can really tell you what each of the subs will hit exactly, there is just too many variables, alot of trial and error is involved in finding the right setup, but thats what makes it fun.

Ok. I was thinkin in terms of batteries a TurboStart or Optima blue deep cycle? Any other suggestions? As for as speaker wire do people really use like 8ga. and 0 ga. ? If so, should I for the kicker 15's?
