The Big 3 Upgrade

Okay, I'm looking into doing the Big 3 upgrade so that I can stop dimming of my lights in my vehicle.

I'm looking in the engine compartment to locate where the current cables are that I'm going to add to or replace.

I found the negative battery to chassis, but I'm not sure about the others.

Am I going to have to add a cable directly from the alternator positive to the battery positive? Because, I don't see a cable already there. there's one that goes from the alternator to the starter, then to the battery positive.

I can't find my engine ground cable either, it's somewhere hidden, obviously in a place not worth trying to get to. So, where can I add a cable that will have the same effect as the engine ground cable?

All advice and help would be greatly appreciated!

dont replace any wires just add too, run wire from alt straight to batt+, you can make another engine ground somewhere else too

So that's not going to ruin anything running a cable straight from the alt to the battery?

If I'm not able to run a ground from engine to chassis, can I run a cable from the case of the alt to the chassis or battery negative?

Not going to ruin anything going from the alt to the batt, just make sure you use a fuse close to the battery, of the appropriate size for the wire you are running. (min of the output of the alt )

Ideally you would run both a better ground from the alt to the battery, and from the battery to the chassis.
