The BEST ground location?

I am going to be installing a ground distro block w/ some 0guage wire... I was thinking of going thru the body w/ a grommet and welding to the frame as close as I can...

Is the frame the best place to be grounding? or is there somewhere better?

Where is the ULTIMATE ground? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

your negative battery terminal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

but your frame is just as good. keep in mind, grind down to bare metal, i would solder a big fat ring terminal to your 0awg wire, and weld the ring terminal to the frame. spray on some sort of rubberized paint to keep oxidization away and youre all set.

I guess the ultimate ground is a second battery in your trunk, as near the amp leads as possible. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

X2

Although welding seems a bit overkill. You're ****ed if you want to move something:crap:

Not to hijack this thread but i have the same question kinda... My car has the battery in the back already (gogo magnums!) and i do have the ground from the distro to the neg bat terminal, i'm getting hella noise and upgrading my big 3 to 0/1 (err 2 cuz no way i'm doing the alt -- bat +, already large guage wire) I was wondering if i should ground to the chassi instead...?? sorry again for hijack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

try regrounding you HU

i see one problem with that..you are using 2 different grounding point for your amps...that can cause some noise issues in the system, its best to ground all amps to the same grounding point. best place IS the frame of the car. if your car is a unibody, the best grounding point will be the negative terminal of the battery under the hood.
