The best OVERALL sub for daily applications is the old school RE Audio XXX series of subs.

They are great priced, top notch SQ, and 150s were common with them so SPL loud isnt out of the question.

I have ran 2500 rms to mine all day for years from an Orion 2500D and no problems. But I wouldnt recommend anymore than that.

The LMS-5400 is the highest performing and the best woofer I have ever tested. It has the flattest frequency response (=very low inductance and its variation with excursion and current), the lowest distortion (all types) (=very linear Bl and compliance) and highest output at every frequency. Of course it sounds extremely good too.

poke around in there and you'll see dozens of woofers tested, the LMS is noticeably different when it comes to distortion vs SPL.

you do have a point. but now im really thinking about the re xx 18 old school how it would compare up with my dp?? and does any body know of some one is selling the old school one??
