the begginings of my amp rack project

well i finally felt like trying to make an amp rack for my amps. i was given the idea to stack the amps like the DD logo. i liked the idea and had been thinking of how to execute it. well it obviously isn't finished yet but this is how it looks as of now. i plan to cover the board and cover the dowels all with black carpet. the only part i'm not a fan of so far is how the rca's go over the bottom amp to get to the top amp.

well onto the few not so good pics i have of my little project.

i'm debating on what kind of carpet or material to use on it. i'm thinking i should order some real box carpet and not cheap out and use felt or speaker grille clothe.

If anything happens to the amp on the bottom do you have to always take the top amp out first?

That could be a pain.

yes i'd have to take the top amp off first to get to anything on the bottom one, but i shouldn't need to. i change all my settings from my HU. i set the gains on the amp and then i don't touch them.

There looks to be plenty of dispersion. Shouldn't be an issue.

they aren't really stacked. they are perfectly vertical. i'm sure a little heat will radiate from one to the other but i don't see it as being a problem. most of the heat should rise right off of them.

i wonder if i can get a foot of it from home depot or lowes. you think it would be just as strong as the wooden dowels? ever used this stuff?
