the 8's are coming!!!

A few people here are talking about running these as mids rather than subs. How well do they perform up to say 1kz?
I wouldn't...

These are basically the same as the eD e8a.44 (by appearances anyway, who knows what Mike's done to them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif )...another beast straight outta TC's hood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Dedicated subwoofers, not really midbass drivers.

personally i think 8w7's are a waste of money too, theres only so much an 8 can do, and for the price will most likley be, theres gunna be better for the money
...and just because a driver is larger doesnt mean it has to take up very much space, note for a 12xxx re recomends .8cuft sealed...thats the same as an 8w7 and really not all that much space
have you ever heard an 8W7?

A subwoofer, eh.

Could this subwoofer be coupled well with a pair of horns for midbass/midrange duties? IE: Do the same as the Koda8.

If not, a pair would work well for me under a seat, or even HT.

Almost surely! Give me a couple weeks and I'll let you know with greater certainty, the capabilities of their frequency response. The TC2+ engine in and of itself has often been used in transition as a midbass, so I'm nearly positive that our new 8" will be up to the task as well. I'll be heading down to TC to do some testing in the next couple weeks so sit tight and I'll get back to you asap.

Well now I don't know what to root for! B)

as a matter of fact..listening to mike's **** of the rl-i 10..i'd wager that even those get lower then a 12" xxx in a sealed box.

Probably, with the Fs being in the low 20's and the 12" being in the teens. I can't wait to have my rl-i 12 up and running w/ 250 rms in 3 cubes NET @22hz in my home system. It'll be blissful! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
