ooo well that explains it then...Wow, you just successfully proved that TC Sounds builds the Soundsplinter drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

And you know what.....not everybody wants, needs or has the space for a 15" XXX or 13w7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And I can assure you they will cost less than an 8w7, yet perform comparably.ooo well that explains it then...
on another note, most likley for the price of 2 of thoes new 8"s you could get a 15" XXX or for 3 a 13w7....not really worth it, whats gunna be louder and sound better? not the 8's...
These are suitable for IB.. oh and while I'm on the topic I may as well elaborate on your previous question about your RL-p. Unfortunately the RL-p line is not as well suited to the task of infinite baffle with respect to our RL-i line. The RL-i line (which the new 8" driver will be a part of), will excel very well in IB applications. Not much power required either, an RL-i12 would prefer at most 200wrms for an IB app.Hey Mike, how will these do IB??
Tiny. I'll get more info as I work out optimal enclosure spec's.. but you could get away with 0.3 cu ft sealed easy.Mike, if you see this... what is the volume need goals for the driver?
Not that our RL-i8 is meant to contend with a 15xxx, because they are both very different drivers, but you'll be able to score three of our RL-i8's for the price of one 15" XXX, and have some change leftover. Really a moot point though, because someone in the market for an 8" woofer probably wouldn't want a 15" XXX and vice versa. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gifon another note, most likley for the price of 2 of thoes new 8"s you could get a 15" XXX or for 3 a 13w7....not really worth it, whats gunna be louder and sound better? not the 8's...
Cool, that's what I estimated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifTiny. I'll get more info as I work out optimal enclosure spec's.. but you could get away with 0.3 cu ft sealed easy.
personally i think 8w7's are a waste of money too, theres only so much an 8 can do, and for the price will most likley be, theres gunna be better for the moneyAnd you know what.....not everybody wants, needs or has the space for a 15" XXX or 13w7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And I can assure you they will cost less than an 8w7, yet perform comparably.
I don't see why you are so against these...........
Ever try running a XXX in a .8 ft^3 sealed box? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/zzzzz.gif.06fa1eabe00c8b872d7e814474c9b95c.gifpersonally i think 8w7's are a waste of money too, theres only so much an 8 can do, and for the price will most likley be, theres gunna be better for the money
...and just because a driver is larger doesnt mean it has to take up very much space, note for a 12xxx re recomends .8cuft sealed...thats the same as an 8w7 and really not all that much space
Straight from the horse's mouth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifGive me a couple weeks and I'll let you know with greater certainty, the capabilities of their frequency response. The TC2+ engine in and of itself has often been used in transition as a midbass, so I'm nearly positive that our new 8" will be up to the task as well. I'll be heading down to TC to do some testing in the next couple weeks so sit tight and I'll get back to you asap.
