The 15" Q switchout is DONE

I've played with them a bit...and i can tell you that it can be an sq driver. With that being said technically any woofer can be a 'sq' driver...as its all on a basis of perception and a matter of how the woofer is used in the install.
Out of the ~70 or so that have shipped out and arrived to thier owners...your the only person with complaints or issues....which is absolutely fantastic in my book. Completely new company, completely new drivers, and only 1 person who is scratching their head and calling foul.

The name of the game isnt to please everybody //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you just cant do it. We tried to make sure that the motors didnt get mixed up with the wrong coils...and there was no difference in your eyes/ears/install. Scott even shipped you a 2nd set of subs, just to make sure that nothing was messed up on the assembly process. I don't know of any other companies that will do that....call foul on a 9515 or 9915 and ask DD if you can have another one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Customer satisfaction still in the 99 percentile...that works well for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Nick,

I never said I was calling a foul, or never did I really have complaints. I spoke with Scott form the start to end, and maybe he could chime in on this...but I don't think I complained about anything.

It was simply the fact that I was expecting the low end to really shine for these drivers, and it became apparent that they really shine in the 35-40hz range.

ok MAYBE it is the box (wich you all know how I feel about it), and because of all these responses, I will be building another box before I do the 6 15's. So please don't make it look like I'm just this one stubborn customer that will just never be happy and will give Fi nothing but problems, k.

As for a new box. I know there are some people on here that wouldn't mind me trying out their plans. So feel free to shoot me a PM, I'll use someones plans, and build the box.

the lowest freq. in Late Night Tip I believe is 32hz.

In manny's defense (not that he needs any) Theres really no customer reviews on the products yet. Alot of people are in the middle of thier installs still fromwhat i was gathering, and the people whohave installed thiers besides manny, i really havent heard anything about the tonality of the drivers from any of them.

The answer you get when you ask any of the people besides manny about the drives.... "They are loud" OK loud is a little broad IMO.

Never said you were giving Fi problems. I'm saying you were the one person out of the ~70 that have been shipped and ordered who has had any issues...

Well re-wired the drivers. And the 12.1 sure doesnt like .5ohm load, shuts off as soon as volume starts rising.
You can borrow mine....teh 35.1 will take it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Late night Tip is almost exactly 32Hz on its lowest beat.

I'll have my FI 12 Q's soon, hopefully after a good break in I'll be able to give some input. BTW set up is 2.7c^ft each tuned to 28hz in seperate chambers, wil be using dual 1 ohm Q12's wired to 1 ohm final load on the amp. As for the amp I will be using the Treo SSX1500.1 (at least a good 2,300 rms at 1 ohm for sure). So each sub will be getting a good 1,000+ rms plus. Hopefully will have setup finished by the end of the week. Also 'bout 65 feet of rammatt used.

I would really like to compare to SI Mags or the TC's but I havn't heard them, I've only heard the Treo SSX, IDMax, MTX9500, Kicker L7, Type-R, JL w7, and some other brands not worth naming (walmart crap, etc.). So hopefully I can do my best to compare to those (mainly the IDMax since I will be looking for the lows).

Manny, He just brough up a good point. How well are these broken in when you did your listening?

The lows should significantly improve once the suspnesion is fully broken in. Maybe a time for a trip to the wall with a dimmer switch.

Wire the D1's in series to 4ohm, get a dimmer switch, plug them up and turn the dimmer up untill you feel you are stressing the drivers. Let them sit there for a few and then put them back in.

Unless they are already broken in, in which case I dont know what to tell you.
