after sending in my 2 04 12' l7's for blown coils, they sent me back 2 06 l7's.now my question is i have a hifonics brutus 1606d amp thats going to my type r's, u guys think another one so i would have one amp to each sub, or sell it and buy an amp to power both of them? also the manual sais max rms at 750 to each what do u guys think about that

so have or had kicker L7's AND type-r's?

do u think i should have each l7 powered by it's own amp or buy stronger one, if so any suggestions?
Eureka!

You should have just stated that in your first post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

The Hifonics should provide ample power for the L7's. No reason I can think of to switch to running one amplifier per sub for a daily driver setup.

cause im giving my type r's 1000 rms combined, with the amp at 3/4.
What do you mean by "with the amp at 3/4"? You mean you have the gain 3/4 of the way up?

That amplifier is rated to produce 1600w. If it is capable of that, or even relatively close, then there's no point in switching amplifiers.

Remember, to increase a mere 3db you need to double your power. Increasing the power to the Kicker's by a total of 500w (for example) will just barely net an audible difference in output.

thanks for the advise, i'll hook up the l7's and see what sounds better. is it just me or are the l7's and type r's always going at it. well i'll see what sounds better tonight
