The way they setup your subs is probably the reason you roasted the coils. They were probably getting a clipped signal. If you were running the two off of 1600wrms, you shouldn't have toasted them if they were setup properly. It takes a lot of power to blow an L7. You're dang lucky Kicker covered them!

the 0612L7s can handle some shit. they can take up to twice their reccomended rms rating(1500) just as long its a clean unclipped signal.IMO you should sell the typr R's and get another bxi1606d and wire one to each L7

It just depends on what he's going for and how much money he wants to spend. If he's going for pure SPL and has the cash to spend, then sure go ahead and throw the power to them.

dual 4 ohm. yeah its 1605d but i think i could probably get 1300 or 1400 rms out of it. how much does that pa3000d cost and where can i get it from. any other suggestions

If you have a bxi1605d, I think you're just fine. That's what I plan on running my 12" L7s off of. You're giving them 800wrms, they're rated for 750wrms. Sure, they can take more, but are you competing with them? In my opinion, the bxi1605d is just about perfect for 2 12" L7s in a daily driver.

If you decide to ditch your bxi1605d, let me know!

Yes, they can take more.....and NEED more. If you don't have any experiance with these subs, please don't confuse the thread starter by offering your OPINION on how it will sound.

We do L7 installs every day at my shop. I have 8 of the 0612L7s sitting at home in my "stockroom" that I used for testing when I was switching from four X18s to four of the X12s in my van.

If you don't give those subs 1K CLEAN per sub, then you won't be happy. You will prob also burn coils up or just flat out lock up the sub.
