Testing midrange and tweeters for a higend set.

160 db+ on music 20hz to 80hz or bust.
when i get enought sales ill try hard to do something that hits hard as **** from 34-70. which IMO is the common bandwidth most songs are in.. im not dropping 20k of a system i have much more important things to do with my money. now on the other hand if you want to do a group buy ill be more than glad to whip up a system. untill i can sell some drivers im not spending any more than i have to..

FYI ill give you 4 18s for 2k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The parameters are as follows

Re 3.91

F's is 47hz

Qts. 31

Qes .375

QMS 1.917

Le is .1513

80 Watts rms with 80hz xover.

Its very efficient and honestly likes small to medium sized enclosures and loves to be ported.

Its plays well past what you would need any midbass. I have tested it to play past 10khz! of course your going to get roll off off axis. It will really shine in a kick panel or built pods but it does fine in properly done doors..

No set price but you can expect around 160 a pair..

should have FR plots by next weekend. im working too much to do anything. still haven't installed my alt or battery.

have to build custom mounting brackets to mount the mids becasue the stock speakers are housed in a "pod". The speakers are literally built in the pods. so i got some fiberglass and some sono tube. i have to cut the sonotube to the ID of the basket and im going to double lyer it and build a flange and glass it for strength to mount into the factory location. Im going to try to build a ported enclosure tuned to 55 for them so they kick major ***.. so far ive listed to the tweeters and they are very nice. the ceramic needs alittle EQ at 5k but it has some serious air and sounds excellent. the soft dome sounds very natural but lacks a tad at the very top end which is fine because a 2db boost at 15k and it sounds amazing. i'm satisfied with both tweeters. its basically what type of sound you perfer..

they are really meantf or smaller sealed alignments like kicks and small to medium ported enclosures. they will do nicely in larger doors because of the higher xmaxbu t ideally my design theory is the same between all of the drivers.

low inductance low MMS good motor strength and a linear stroke mechanically and electromagnetically.

its a long gag long coil design.

the sub is being addressed to shed some mass and gain motor strength but for a sub having ault ra low QE means very peaky and having too high a QE meanspower compression and poor efficiency. its all in hte balance of the design honestly but i am a fan of low inductance and low power compression i fell they BOTH in conjunction translate to a better transient response and ACTUAL LINEAR MOTOR STRENGTH..

First test will be in properly sealed/designed doors free air pretty much as a drop in. then im going to build some custom pods and port them in .2 tuned to 50 or 55. that is where they will shine.. point is to be-able to get excellent output and extension without needing 2 or 3 larger drivers and still being able to play high enough to have good output and beable to blend nicely with a 1" soft dome or similar tweeter.
