I have a 93 s10 that seemed to have dimming headlights coming from a 4ch amp. I also noticed my headlights would dim without the amp on then dim and not go with the music. I tested the voltage with the car off = 12.86V

The truck was warm, turned it on = 15V highest 14.78V Lowest

It was jumping around between those, no headlights on.

Turned on my headlights/high beams and turn signal = 14.8V highest, 14.4V lowest

SO now i know why my headlights dim, too much voltage.

Im sure its the regulator, What do you think??

When i rev up the engine it seems to fall to about 14.4V.

I already have another alternator on hand, just wondering if this is an easy fix.

I almost felt like putting a cap to smooth out the voltage:D JK.

Alternator in it right now-????

Alternator i have on hand- AC Delco 100amp, Stock.
