they sell terminal brushes at auto parts stores... and i believe it's caused by the elements outside...

u get it by having a battery and you get rid of it by cleaning it off and sealing it with a battery protector and sealer also both sold a local auto stores

clean both the post and the terminal with a metal brush, than coat both the post and the terminal with petro. jelly.

Sand paper. Then buy some of that terminal gel stuff that Autozone should carry.

Vasoline works good to stp the corrosion.After you have cleaned the terminals apply some to the post and the clamps inner area.
