the tempest is one of the best sub for under $150. it will outperform the 15W3 in the right install and box. assuming you do, they will sound better than any rockford fosgate subs out there.

if you dont' go to SPL competitions, then get the tempest. they have the SQ and get get **** loud enough to kill your eardrums. u will still score some high db's with the tempest. u may gain about a few db's with the kicker, but where's all the sound quality? is it really worth it to sacrifice a lot of SQ just for an extra 2 or so db's when you're not going to listen to the system at full volume?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now don't go too far in depth into what I'm about to say, but overall:

The L7 in terms of an SPL woofer, is a flawed design at best. The added cone area does not make up for it's completely lackluster amount of linear travel.

Done right, you can likely watch a tempest keep up with the L7 head to head.
