Temp amp turn-on location

Is there any wire that I can use to turn my amp on without a head unit? As in could I hook my amp remote up to any other power cables that are in the same area as my HU would be?

Long story short, my HU is off for a repair, and is likely to take 2-3 weeks until I get it back. In the meantime I want to hook up my MP3 player to my amp and at least get some music (I have a long commute, its incredibly dull with no music at all).

I know I could put my remote wire into the fusebox, but am hoping to find somewhere around the HU location to use as it's a big headache routing my remote up through the dash (its a 2000 F-150).

Thanks.

so you are gonna hook up your mp3 player to your amp and roll with just bass?
Errrr no........... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

The amp I plan hooking it up to powers my speakers. I said I want to get some music, not a bass note.

The radio fuse in the fuse box only comes alive when the ignition is on..
I know, it's called switched, r-tard....And what does this have to do with him wanting to turn his amp on with no H/U? He already has power running to his amp all he has to do is jump the +12v terminal on the amp to the remote terminal on the amp with a switch on the wire to shut the amp off.

The amp will turn on when he turns the ignition on..

Sorry if I offended you...WOW

yeah we know, he could tap into the radio fuse in the FUSE BOX, so that way he wouldnt have to put a switch in line with a constant 12v source. it would be easier for him, and it would automatically turn on when he turned his car on
