I am planning on having a local shop install a completely system in my car using the following gear (will be purchasing from them). They are renowned by serious audiophiles in my area and have an impeccable reputation for doing quality work.
Here's what they're selling me:
Front stage: Hertz HSK 165 (125watts RMS)
Rear fill: Hertz HCX 165 (100watts RMS)
Sub: Hertz HX 250 D 10'' DVC (450watts RMS)
Audio processing: Alpine Imprint with custom tuning done by the shop (also boosts my preamp to 4V)
Here's where it confuses me:
Amp: Audison SRX5
Wiring options
4 x 55 watts & 1 x 160 watts (4 ohm/4ohm)
4 x 70 watts & 1 x 260 watts (2 ohm/2ohm)
4 x 50 watts & 1 x 300 watts (4 ohm/2 ohm)
4 x 50 watts & 1 x 300 watts (4 ohm/2 ohm)
2 x 140 watts & 1 x 260 watts (4 ohm/2 ohm)
4 x 75 watts & 1 x 160 watts (2 ohm/4 ohm)
The shop assured me that not only will the SRX5 be enough power to run that sub, but I will be shocked by the output and SQ it will deliver. They said the Hertz speakers are more efficient and need a lot less power than other brands in order to perform.
Thoughts?
