15" Audiopulse Revo minty. Has mucho low end. If you don't want used, I would look at the havoc before most of them you referenced besides maybe the xcon. It is a very clean sub but might not like the total 2000 watts daily.

So I will finally be upgrading my substage here pretty soon. I'm looking to get looow and loud. Here are all the details:

Power: Mmats 2000.1

Vehicle: 04 Civic coupe

Music: Decaf, rap, rock, some country

Space: probably around 4-5 cubes.

Budget: $500 dollars, give or take.

Note* Because of the smallish trunk opening, the tallest my box can be is ~14 inches, so if I went with a single 15 it would have to be sub up firing through rear deck where the 6x9's used to be.

I'm torn between a few setups, but of course always looking for other suggestions.

1. two 12 inch Fi SSD's

2. two 12 inch Fi Q's (how much better would these sound over the SSD's on just a 1000 a piece? would it be worth the extra $80 or so?)

3. two 12 inch Fi BL's (how is the low end on these?)

4. one 15 Xcon

5. one 15 Sp4 (I know the 4 inch coil subs are very inefficient, and i've asked about them before, but would 2k be enough to get it wangin'?)

6. one 15 Fi BTL n2

Obviously I am leaning heavily towards Fi lol for my budget and goals they seem to fit well. I'm not opposed to other brands though, nor am I opposed to buying used. Just getting sick of waiting and lurking through the classifieds every d*mn day lol
you are aware of fi's current back log situation? your most likely looking at a solid month or more to get your sub / subs. I'm a fi guy all the way but i hate seeing the hate threads started going wheres my sub its been 2 days and its not here yet

The idea that any particular sub/speaker "needs" X power to work correctly is not true. Typically if you feel that you need more power A.) You wanted more then what your setup can provide or B.) Your enclosure and/or settings are creating an issue with the amount of output generated.

Now, does this mean that you can achieve maximum potential from your sub/speaker with 1/3 of the rms rating? Not likely, but it will perform very well and allow you the ability for upgrading the future. Just ensure the design of the enclosure is geared toward efficiency. The down side here, is that if you apply more power down the road the need for a new enclosure may arise as enclosures designed around efficiency do not like to have large amounts of power ran through them do to several various factors.

I am the poster boy for what pro-rabbit is talking about.

In case you guys don't get it. Most of you do.

My current sub box is 5.5ft3 after sub and port displacement...for 2 12s...My subs get really loud off of very little power. The gain on my amp is only set to about 1/4...My amp doesn't clip until 2/3...

But I can't give it that much power due to the box being too efficient.
