You might want to do some more research. A good buddy of mine, who is a dentist, explained that most whitening products contain ingredient that can lead to erosion of the enamel. This can make them more sensitive to temperature and weaken the integrity of the tooth.

That is true, to some extent though. I doubt it will affect much from one cycle. It's like smoking a pack of cigarettes and expecting to get cancer.

A buddy of mines used the Crest Whitestrips ones for 10 days and it seem to work pretty well.

Yes they work but as stated, they make your teeth extremely sensitive and might wear away the enamel. I used Crest Whitening Rinse after quitting smoking since its easier to use and I can use it on the go and just spit it out before I get to wherever I'm going. I think it worked pretty well, but I couldn't drink cold or hot water afterwards for about 20 minutes or my teeth would hurt pretty bad. (pussy i know...)

Perhaps it is MEK?

MEK is used to clean and strip paint off of aircraft.
