my comps are a 4ohm set

I believe the 6.5 by itself is a 2 ohm driver.

I am looking to add a 4 inch driver to my current comp set (ef-61)

if I wire this 4inch driver in series with the 6.5 and increase the resistance will that cause any problems with the crossover?

i would go with another 6.5" driver. if you use the same driver you wont run into crossover issues if they are on the same channel. if you have enough power, go for it.

well that is not possible... I believe I will have enough power so I dont think that is going to be an issue...

my main thought is.... is there any way that more power through the crossover and a different resistence is going to mess with it?

as far as i know the crossover is a bunch of resistors that will just cut off different frequencies.
