hey guys!

i got some fast question! first has anyone heard of these amps?

http://www.teamsd.net/

and second i notice that almost all of these amps are rated at 12.6v! so my other question is since these are rated at 12.6 if you put them on a 14v system i assume the power they give out wll also go up, so does this deam them as being under rated amps?

or a better question is why do some amp company rate amps at 14.4v and other like the above rate them at 12.6v? is there a benifit to rating them lower or higher?

* Yes

* Yes, You're right and they'll give more than the rated power if you got the electrical to feed it.

*Guess what! lol

Chicken butt? lol!!!

so can i assume if they rate it at a higher voltage they can say the amp puts out more power? so really an amp that puts out 1000watts at 12v, they an really say 1800 at 14,4 volts? kind a thing? on the flip side if an amp says 1000 at 14.4 at 12 volts they really do what...500rms?

That would be a big, huge, NEGATIVE on your assumption. You should pick up 150 to 200 watts in a perfect world, but you are NOT going to get 80% more power just by going from 12.x to 14.4 volts with most power amps.

Plus you also have other factors working against you. Impedance rise will generally come back to bite you on the higher bass notes and you will actually lose a few watts. Also, the inefficiencies of your vehicle's charging system will impact how much actual power you can get @ 14.4 volts. If you don't upgrade your alternator and battery, you can expect to NOT see 14.4 volts when a long, drawn out bass note hits. As a result, you will actually lose amplifier output power as the voltage drops.

SounDigital is a Brazilian company that is moving into the US market.They have been around for about 20years and are making some very powerful amps with a small foot print.Go over te TP and you will see a lot of talk about SD.
