Ohh, well I know the local JL dealer around here checks the box used to be able to get a warranty on their woofers.

The owner I thought said he was required to do so, thats where I got that from.

Yes, if it's not dealer installed then the dealer has to verify that the installation is "adequate" to receive full warranty.

i.e. the subwoofer enclosure isn't cardboard or massively leaking, wires aren't exposed, etc.

Humm somewhere I swear i've heard/read that if not using a JL enclosure, you have to send in the specs of the enclosure to plan to build to get approval. Maybe it's a tall tale, but I'm sure I've heard something along those lines.

And if a sub blows, it's not ALWAYS the users fault, it could be a manufacturer's defect that was magnified by the volume. But, you're right, and I worded wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

had lots of jl subs blew lots when i was starting out and never had them even ask what kind of box let alone want to look at it they jsut say shipping is $xx.xx and i pay it
