Tc9 Recone

Seems like one of my tc sounds made tc-9 is blown

my dmm is broken, so i can't really tell what resistance it's standing at, but when doing A/B test with my other one, the working one sound hella louder.

do you guys think i can still get a recone? tc sound ain't no more... and i don't really want to recone the two subs...

and how hard is it to actually recone, never did that

i'm in canada... shipping a 32lbs sub and getting it back is already over 100$. can you direct me to Dave?

beside that how can i contact Thilo?

btw atm i'm only hooking the working one, not giving too much power and it sound better than with both hook up... It was sounding like a nasty rattling at high level b4 that.

Coil is dark brownish too, but it was that way when i bought it. When i asked what's up at the seller, he said he didn't know... subs weren't his....

it plays well for like 2 months tho

tc is technically still around.. look on audiopulse.com for thilos contact information and give him a call to see if you can get anything done to it. if not go to fixmyspeaker.com and email david. he can set you up with a recone for sures.

If you liked the way they sounded but you still managed to blow them, you probably need more. I would suggest moving up to the TC-2000 12" with a high roll surround. It's still a TC-9 but the coil is longer so Xmax and power handling is greater and it has a shorting ring in the motor so THD and inductance is lower. On top of that it has 10" spiders. They can take lots of abuse but they're still a SQ driver.

anyway, i didn't look at the one with the clean coil, but it was the faulty one, making the whole substage sounding like crap. It now sound how they did when i got them 2month ago. 3more dbs on the epic too... i was wondering where the dbz were gone
